An aerial photograph of the port of Swinemünde taken in 1939. The    armoured vessel "Deutschland" (later "Lützow") mooring at the Eichstaden island.
Later, on 9th April 1945, the "Lützow" intervened in military actions from the Kaiserfahrt navigation channel. She was hit there by British bombs on 16th April 1945 and blown off on 4th May 1945 by the crew. After the war, the Red Army used the Lützow as a target in the Baltic Sea, where it was sunk in 1947
